Rise Men’s campaign started strongly with a 23-16 win over Swift Men. Sam Ives’ team led the game at the end of every quarter and put on a dominant display to overcome the opposition.

Right from the start, the team were consistently pressuring the Swift ‘keeper and with the fast nature of their game and their smooth transitions into defence set them up for success.

They led 11-7 going into half-time with Swift still in touch, but with a clear plan to focus on handling and finishing, Rise were able to begin to pull away as the game wore on.

Freddie Atkins led with five goals for Rise, ably supported by captain Ryan Hunns, and Robert Harris who each hit four.

Swift’s Corey Carver scored four of his own, with hat-tricks for Matt Boyd, Louis Alhage, and Austin Holgate, but it proved in vain as Rise always kept their noses ahead.

Overall, Rise started strong and stuck to their gameplan, working together as a unit with James Holt making a number of sharp stops in goal, while Rise’s attack were more accurate in front of goal to get the 23-16 win.
