British Lacrosse head to Hong Kong for Sixes test

British Lacrosse head to Hong Kong, China at the end of this year to compete at the international World Lacrosse Hong Kong Super Sixes event from 29-31 December.

The competition will be British Lacrosse’s first outing since the announcement of Sixes Lacrosse inclusion at the 2028 LA Olympic Games and sees a host of The Fly regulars taking to the field against countries from across Asian and European federations.

GB Men will Philippines and Hong Kong, China in opening group fixtures while the Women face again Philippines, Hong Kong, China and also China, before the team head into play off and knockout competition, hoping to make the New Year’s Eve finals.

The 12-player British Lacrosse squads feature strong mixes of experienced players as well as several up and coming young athletes competing in the three-day competition taking place across the Wong Chuk Hang & Aberdeen Sports Grounds in the heart of Hong Kong.

The squads feature strong representation from our pioneering Sixes league, The Fly, with all but one player having previously featured at The Fly. (England World Championship medal winner Georgie Southorn has committed to the 2024 draft!)

Record goal scorer Alex Russell, along with Hustle teammate Hal Dwobeng, two-time winning Forge captain and goalie Emilie Chandler, and 2023 women’s top scorer and Swift reurnee Lottie Robertson are just some of the names travelling to Hong Kong having proven their Sixes skills at The Fly.

The Hong Kong Super Sixes will showcase the Sixes Lacrosse format of the game that features six players on each team, a smaller pitch, fewer pitch markings, and a 30-second shot clock, making the game fast-paced, furious and full of fun.

Full squad lists and fixture schedules for both British Lacrosse teams can be found below, with more information on the full event schedule HERE
