Officiating Applications open

The officiating application process for The Fly is now live and we are looking for Referees and Umpires to be a part of the new National 6 a-side event showcasing lacrosse at the highest level.

The Fly is using the new World Lacrosse Sixes rules, for which the World Governing Body has produced full rule books and learning resources to aid officials.

The Fly will also be making sure officials are fully up to speed with the Sixes game and helping to develop their skills and experience in the new format.

As with the selection process for players and coaches, to encourage the widest range of applications, submissions will be anonymised and reviewed by our officiating selection panel.

Officials will be required to complete their application form prior to the deadline of 9am on Tuesday 15 June.

The selection panel will then independently review applications before meeting to discuss and select the officials.

Dates: Saturday 17 July, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August

Officials’ Requirements:

  • Officials will need to hold at least a Level 1 Qualification as either a Referee or Umpire and have an active EL membership

  • Officials will be required to attend all three days of competition at Lilleshall National Sports Centre (TF10 9AT) and will be provided with accommodation for the Friday and Saturday night of the August dates.

  • Officials will be paid the National Rate for an Elite Level competition with food and travel expenses provided
