Women's 3rd/4th: Rise 14 - 9 Hustle

Women’s 3rd/4th Play-off: Rise 14 - 9 Hustle

Hustle started Finals Weekend looking and playing strong against Forge after starting the day in 4th place after Day 1 in July.

It was a close opening game which was met with a ferocious downpour, and Hustle marginally lost out to Forge with 12-14.

Rise came into this weekend seeded second behind the unbeaten Team Swift, however 13 was unlucky for Rise as they only managed 13 goals against both finalists, Swift (13-16) and Forge (13-15)

Hustle captain and defensive superhero, Emma Oakley, leads her team into the final day of The Fly looking for a second win against Rise, who they beat in overtime on Day 1 back in July. England teammate, Clare Faram, goes up against Emma, captaining team Rise in this final matchup.

Semi-Final 2: Swift 16 - 10 Hustle

This game saw a lot of cards, with both teams proving just how much they are willing to give to get to final. Neither team could get a foothold in the first half, leaving it all square as we entered the second half. A tired Hustle defence in the last quarter led to some brilliant Swift goals, resulting in a 16-10 win for the Team in blue.

Semi-Final 2: Rise 15 - 13 Hustle

Rise 15 - 13 Hustle

Rise started strong in this game moving ahead early on, but Hustle weren’t giving up on the title yet as the battle of the goalie’s stole the show in this semi-final. With a minute to go in the final quarter and both teams sat level at 13-13, Rise captain Alex Russell puts his team one goal up. Rise weren’t taking any chances though, and put away a final goal to go two up against Hustle, ending the game with a 15-13 win.

Semi-Final 1: Rise 13 - 15 Forge

Rise 13 - 15 Forge

Rise started strong in this game and it looked like they had the win in the bag. Forge were having none of it, and brought it back from being 4-1 down in the first quarter to a 13-13 draw in the 4th. Rise couldn’t answer and remained at 13 goals while Forge pushed ahead with two more goals, securing their space in the finals.

A steady start for Swift as they ended the first quarter with a 4-4 draw. They lost momentum going into the rest of the game, with Forge ending the half with 11 goals to 9, moving to 16-14 at the 4th, resulting in a 21-16 win for Forge.
